We promote healthy eating through our Market Day program, which brings farmers markets into easily accessible neighborhood settings, including senior centers, churches, and senior communities. Many markets host coffee, snacks, or a social hour, giving people even more reason to come out and enjoy the day.
Our on-site coordinators work closely with each community to ensure that we are meeting the unique needs of that community’s population. This includes providing a variety of produce that directly meets the wants of the community and regularly sending Pulse surveys to participants to ensure we are meeting their needs. We work with vendors local to each location who source produce from local farmers. Any leftover produce that is not sold is donated to local nonprofits.
